I’m a composer and multimedia artist based in New York City. My current interests are in the phenomenology of the body, the unconscious, and our relationship with technology, and I engage with these through sound, text, visual art, and performance. I’m from California via most of the states on Interstate 10, and I studied music composition and human complex systems at UCLA. I first encountered Zen through Hofstadter’s presentation of koans as murky, suspicious riddles threatening to the ego and its ratiocinations, which seemed like a pretty good idea at the time. Discovering a living koan tradition more interested in experience than costumery was a later and happy accident.
